Dallas-based artist Gunpoint (born Aviel Samuel) found a deep love for music at a very young age, while learning to play the piano. Though he specializes in bass music, he draws inspiration from many different genres, including alternative and hip-hop music. Some of his biggest sources of inspiration include: RL Grime, Zeds Dead, Boombox Cartel, Peekaboo, Mersiv, and Deadcrow. Being held at gunpoint is undeniably an intense experience. When coming face-to-face with death, your life flashes before your eyes – evoking powerful memories both good and bad. Gunpoint seeks to mirror this contrast, providing both hard hitting bass and emotionally rich tones with breathtaking intensity and poetic ethereality.
